Southwest Airlines has been one of the only airlines not increasing and inventing fees lately for travelers. Southwest has announced that they will now allow small dogs and cats (in carriers) as carry-on items. However, this will cost the passenger $75 each way. For unaccompanied minors, they will begin charging a $25 fee each way and they will double the fee for the third or overweight bag to $50 each way.
The airline is keeping true to the “no hidden fees” they advertise and not charging for all checked baggage like other airlines.
